Frank Inzan Owen After many years of savoring the more recent works of Roy Mattson (Mesmer, Flora and Fauna, Music of the Smoky Rainbow, etc.), I finally circled back — as if on a pilgrimage — to commune with In The Wind. Where Mesmer has been the soundtrack to my inner forest, In The Wind feels simultaneously cosmic and intrapsychic, like the sonic, fractal pattern tones of a chrysalis slowly dissolving allowing for a new world of pure perception to arise.
Favorite track: Blissed Out.

Dave DeWolf A mesmerizing journey within that invokes a depth of spirit reflecting vivid patterns of flow. It emerges in serene, gentle warmth as sounds evolve slowly and build a scene immersed in nature. You arrive among crickets invited to a land of graceful bells in a place that must be heaven. Onward to an otherworldly guitar and then a nice groove to engage your body. A drifting expanse returns brightened in stillness as a hazy cathedral resonance overcomes. A truly wonderful album! Favorite track: New Eyes.

Ever present since the beginning of time…the Wind. The movement of air be it undetectable currents or typhonic rages. It is a moving space that is haunted by sound waves, the dust of the winged moth, the sighs of lovers, scented pollen, moisture, perhaps a highway for the dead. It is evidenced by the swaying of trees, gliding birds on thermals; it whispers in our ears, whistles through the gravestones; it sets down the dandelion fur when it weakens, and it has carved out majestic landscapes. it carries ancient songs to our ears if we make ourselves present to hear them. It is a dynamic force of creation, destruction, and even more…just being. A time to be…In the Wind.

Instrumentation: synthesizers, electric guitar, wind chimes, field recordings, and other sound sources.
